Moms and Dads are the hardest workers on the planet. ANYONE who tells you differently doesn't know what the hell they are talking about, because they are neither a Mom OR a Dad.
I personally think Moms top the list, because the role of being a father is...well, it's got its ups and downs. I'm a father, and by NO MEANS have I been an amazing dad, but the love I have for my kids is unquestionable.
And that's not to say that dads are NOT vital - I know a number of dads that are doing double-duty, without the wife/mom...those of you that do that are my absolute HEROES. I will say though, my wife has gone above and beyond with our kids, our home, and her work...usually without my assistance. LOVE that woman.
I lost my own father a day after Thanksgiving about 5 years ago. I don't know who missed out more - him for not knowing his granddaughter growing up into a beautiful lady, my daughter, not knowing what kind of manly man her grandfather was, or me - watching them both form that bond and changing each other.
And while my father and I loved each other and got along, it wasn't the best relationship - it was up and down, and only completely up once he became a grandfather...something I've learned from, and STILL try to do better with my own, and not always succeeding. So when I found this video, had to share - the honesty is appreciative.
Happy Fathers Day WEEKEND, to ALL the dads out there. Miss ya, Dad.
