From USA TODAY:
A human heart was left on board a Southwest Airlines flight, en route from Seattle to Dallas.
The human organ was accidentally kept on a connecting flight instead of being taken out of the cargo hold.
Once discovered, the entire Dallas-bound flight had to turn around and deliver the life saving cargo..
The heart was on its way to an area tissue processor.
Southwest said the incident, which occurred on Sunday's Flight 3606, was a "a life-critical cargo shipment" and was "intended to stay in Seattle for delivery to a local hospital."
Despite the delay, the heart was still usable.
I've never flown on Southwest...and now I may never. Damn.
