It's a day that not many people ever thought they'd see - the world famous pimento cheese from the Masters Golf Tournament is now available to order online nationwide.
Cherished for generations, the sandwich had only been available at the Augusta National, and its recipe was one of the best kept secrets, right up there with KFC's 11 herbs & spices. However, since the death of the original creator, Nick Rangos, the 'cheese changed hands' to Ted Godfrey with Wife Saver in 1998, and THIS is the version you can now order - "Ted's Famous Pimento Cheese".
Is it the same as Rangos' original? Honestly? Damn near close...close enough for me. Although it's already caused some debate, that it's not Rangos' original. Many fear the first recipe has actually been lost - even Rangos was quoted that he didn't know what made his version so special. And don't ask Wife Saver - they're tight lipped about their version, too.
Choose from three sizes: a two-pound pack ($59), four-pound pack ($79), and six-pound pack ($99).
