Donate (preferably money)
There's a number of charities from UNICEF to Save the Children that are soliciting financial donations for Puerto Rico. They say that in the early stages of disaster relief, it's better to donate money rather than supplies because money can be routed quicker and exactly to where it's needed. I never thought about it but food, clothing and supplies are in-demand but it takes additional funding and transportation which could be a challenge as many roads are destroyed from Hurricane Maria.
If you'd like to donate money, it's best to do it directly from a charity's website. Some of the larger organizations to consider are listed below:
