VIRGINIA COLLEGE IN AUGUSTA TO HOST BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT AUG. 5

Local campus to participate in national event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

AUGUSTA, Ga.July 20, 2017Virginia College in Augusta will host a Back to School Event Saturday, Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus located at 2807 Wylds Road. The event is free and open to the public, as the community is invited to kick off the new school year with Virginia College. The event will feature refreshments, carnival games, inflatables, food trucks, a dunk tank, a petting zoo, music, free haircuts for kids, program demonstrations and campus tours. Additionally, Power 107 will be present at the event giving away concert tickets between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Attendees will be entered to win prizes such as Amazon gift cards and backpacks filled with school supplies.

The event is part of Virginia College parent company Education Corporation of America’s national Back to School Events being held at 64 other Virginia College, Brightwood College and Brightwood Career Institute locations throughout 17 states.

“As summer comes to a close, we wanted to invite the community to celebrate the new academic year and all the possibilities it holds,” says Campus President Kate Packard. “We hope that everyone will join us for this event that promises fun for all ages! Our faculty and staff will also be available to discuss Virginia College and the programs our campus offers for those interested in going back to school."

The event will also allow attendees to explore the programs offered through Virginia College, including: Business Administration, Business Office Specialist, Cosmetology, Customer Service Professional, Healthcare Reimbursement, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Office Administration, Pharmacy Technician and Surgical Technology programs.
