32nd S.E.E.D - Science Education Enrichment Day

32nd Annual S.E.E.D. – Science Education Enrichment Day to be held on the campus of USC Aiken

Science Education Enrichment Day (S.E.E.D.) is a family themed festival celebrating science, technology, engineering and math. The 32nd annual S.E.E.D. will provide opportunity for engagement and exchange between children, teens, families, and local STEM professionals. The CSRA’s largest STEM festival will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00am until 3:00pm on the campus of USC Aiken and will feature exhibitors who will provide hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, and family-oriented STEM entertainment.

Imagine making your own slime, talking turkey, driving a championship robot, becoming a TV meteorologist, or traveling through a virtual representation of outer space. These are just a few of the many activities planned for the 32nd Annual S.E.E.D. – Science Education Enrichment Day. This year S.E.E.D. is proud to be a Satellite Event of the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington D.C. Along with S.E.E.D., organizers of the USA Science & Engineering Festival hope to have a million people join in across the nation, and the best part—IT’S ALL FREE.

Join us on October 7th from 10am-3pm and celebrate innovations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Visit the Ruth Patrick Science Center and other sites on the USC Aiken campus as student groups, regional corporations, museums, educators, and national labs join forces to present hundreds of activities for people of all ages.

Organizers hope to increase awareness of the critical role science and other STEM fields play in our everyday existence.

S.E.E.D. is sponsored by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness, SRS Community Reuse Organization, Southern Nuclear, SRP Federal Credit Union, Kimberly-Clark, SC Cyber, WJBF, the Aiken Standard, 104.3 WBBQ, 105.7 The Bull, with additional support from the Maxwell Law, Augusta-Aiken Project Management Institute (PMI), Innovative Solutions, Jeff and Ellen Priest, Fran White, USCA Dining Services and USC Aiken.
