And here comes winter!
Starting around January 3, 2018, the National Weather Service will begin to issue the highly localized Snow Squall Warnings.
Besides Michigan, this warning will be implemented in Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont and Wyoming.
A snow squall is an intense but short period of moderate to heavy snowfall with gusty winds with snow accumulation possibly significant.
If a snow squall warning is issued, the National Weather Service has this advice:
Avoid or delay travel until the snow squall has passed.
Use extra caution and allow extra time if you need to travel.
Low visibility and slick roads may occur.
